Social Enterprise Boot Camp: A workshop on social enterprise and launch point for a circle of community support within Sault Ste. Marie. All are welcome to attend, including service providers, non-profit organizations, as well as individuals.

The workshop will be half-day in length, from 1 pm to 4 pm at 180 Projects on Gore Street.

A key note address will start the session, followed by round table discussions with experts in their field. There will be six facilitators for the roundtable discussions and participants will have the choice of attending three of the six.

The purpose of the three-hour gathering is to become familiar with social enterprise as a tool for community changemaking, and revenue generation for non-profit organizations, businesses, and individuals through roundtable discussions.

Topics for Roundtables include:

  • Funding for Social Enterprise facilitated by Elizabeth MacMillan
  • Cooperative Business Models facilitated by Peggy Baillie
  • Art of Community Engagement facilitated by Zenith Lillie
  • Sustaining your Change in Social Enterprise facilitated by Katie Elliott
  • Spin Off Social Enterprise to Create Revenue facilitated by Alison Lynes
  • Marketing on a Budget facilitated by Janelle Tang

The workshop is co-facilitated by Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (SEE) Northern Region Partnership and StartUP Sault. It is generously funded by Ministry of Economic Development and Growth as well as Community Development Corporation of Sault Ste. Marie and area.
